About

The Food Snob studies cookbooks like some people read the Bible. She knows that the French dish “pot au feu” (pot of fire) begat the Vietnamese “pho” (pronounced the same way).  Her fellow reviewers greet these revelations with a resounding “Who cares?”

The Bachelor admits that the nuances of taste and presentation are lost on him. He likes a lot of food with a minimum of silverware. He judges nutritional value by appearance alone:  If fruits or vegetables are visible, it must be health food.

The Cheapskate loves good food, but craves a well-nourished bank balance even more.  Frugality and gluttony are in constant conflict in a quest for generous portions, gracious service, and lots of leftovers. Woe betide any restaurant charging extra for bread.
